2009 has been a gold mine as cell users because batch of handsets accept comprised released already and many more are lined up to hit the shelves soon. They not only are making progress in terms of technology that is in use but also their prices have been slashed as the competition has risen. These launches have been headed by market leaders; Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, HTC etc. To make profit out of these highly advanced devices, network providers (o2, Vodafone, 3 etc.) have jumped the bandwagon by offering lucrative deals and highly attractive gifts to edge their competitors. However, all this tussle over pipping the competitor has been wonderful for consumers who have wider options and can also get these marvelous handsets at negligible prices and in many cases for free as well. With smartphones soaring in popularity across the last few years, it’s interesting to get a load back up and review the best models of 2009. From the iPhone to the Palm Pre; here’s 5 by the best :

5. Palm Pre – Dubbed the ‘Blackberry killer’ in some quarters, the Palm Pre brought a fresh new approach to smartphones in 2009. The release of Palm Web OS placed user experience as its number one priority, and made the Palm Pre a genuinely useful and multifunctional smartphone. A bad point of the Palm Pre is the issues with its battery life, according to many users.

4. HTC Touch Pro2 – Placing the HTC Touch Pro2 behind the HTC Hero is a tough decision to make, but I feel it is just. The Touch Pro2 comes with a 3.2MP camera, qwerty keyboard and Windows Mobile OS – three features which are better accommodated for in the HTC Hero (in my opinion). The best thing about the HTC Touch Pro2 though, is the bigger resolution screen. (more…)
