5. Palm Pre – Dubbed the ‘Blackberry killer’ in some quarters, the Palm Pre brought a fresh new approach to smartphones in 2009. The release of Palm Web OS placed user experience as its number one priority, and made the Palm Pre a genuinely useful and multifunctional smartphone. A bad point of the Palm Pre is the issues with its battery life, according to many users.

4. HTC Touch Pro2 – Placing the HTC Touch Pro2 behind the HTC Hero is a tough decision to make, but I feel it is just. The Touch Pro2 comes with a 3.2MP camera, qwerty keyboard and Windows Mobile OS – three features which are better accommodated for in the HTC Hero (in my opinion).
